UNION JACK RADIO LAUNCHES LIVE NOT-IN-A-PUB PUB QUIZ, HOSTED BY MARK “THE BEAST” LABBETT

28 April 2020, Oxford: National digital radio station Union JACK can today announce the launch of a groundbreaking live quiz concept, designed to provide the nation with fun and entertainment during the current lockdown. The Not-in-a-Pub Pub Quiz will be hosted by TV personality and renowned quizzer Mark “The Beast” Labbett, and will feature unique voice technology that is brand new to the UK and which enables listeners to play along with the quiz live, submitting their answers verbally through their mobile devices and enabling real-time interaction with Labbett.

 

Union JACK radio is no stranger to innovation, and to creating content for the radio that is completely unique. Noticing the popularity that quiz formats are playing in people’s lives during the country’s lockdown, the radio station quickly secured one of the best quizzers in the country and created an unrivalled live quiz offering that aims to bring people together twice a week for some lighthearted fun; as well as provide companionship and camaraderie for people who may be alone during this difficult period.

 

Taking place at 1pm every Tuesday and Thursday, from Thursday 30 April, the quiz also features unique voice technology. Once they have downloaded the ‘Union JACK Pub Quiz’ App, the software enables listeners to respond to live radio by simply speaking into their mobile device to answer the question. Their answers will immediately be communicated to Labbett, who will be able to easily identify the right answers, the quickest to answer, the slowest to answer and more, allowing him to easily interact with players taking part in the quiz, in real time.

 

This live interaction between the Labbett and listeners playing along at home will uniquely capture that ‘pub quiz’ feel, with Labbett having free-reign to interact with listeners. A unique sense of rivalry will also be ignited through the quiz, with players competing against thousands of their compatriots and, through an interactive leaderboard on unionjack.co.uk, able to follow the progress of all players, easily identifying the ones to watch.
